Our Vision: a multi-screen drive-in movie theater
Read our Vision
We have an alarming lack of family friendly and evening entertainment options here in the Verde Valley. With a single movie theater serving all 80,000 residents, many residents choose to travel to Flagstaff, Prescott, or Prescott Valley to enjoy an afternoon or evening at the movie theater as opposed to driving into Sedona. This poses an opportunity for a diverse entertainment model.
My vision is for a family friendly entertainment destination that serves the Verde Valley’s residents while consistently attracting customers from across Northern Arizona. A Drive In will capitalize on the Verde Valley’s beautiful landscape, and the weather here will allow for nine months of operation. The Verde Drive-In will show Classic Films, and build into New Releases when we have the equipment to do so. We will sell traditional movie theater food and partner with local food trucks to bring you quality appetizers, and entrees.
The Verde Drive-In will serve the Verde Valley and attract customers from Flagstaff, Prescott, and Phoenix. A national study has shown that customers will drive over 45 miles to experience a drive in movie theater as opposed to under twenty to a traditional hardtop theater. We will pull one hundred sixty three thousand customers from within a forty-five mile radius.
Our traditional competitors are Harkins in Sedona, Flagstaff, Prescott Valley, the Picture Show in Prescott, West Wind Glendale 9 Drive In in Glendale, and the various streaming services available in your houses today. The Verde Drive-In is the superior choice as we will provide a quality experience with world class customer service and quality food that you can enjoy with your neighbors while enjoying the beautiful Verde Valley. Local entertainment options such as the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Verde Canyon Railroad, and Blazin’ M Ranch are not competitors but rather allies in creating a true entertainment destination.
Verde Drive-In will sell tickets below the market rate We will develop or licence a mobile app that will allow our customers to buy their tickets before arriving as well as allow them to order food from their car while watching the movie. The mobile app will allow for seamless integration of a customer loyalty and rewards program.
Marketing will be conducted via social media, Money In The Mail, Kudos, Chamber of Commerce inserts, communication to our loyalty rewards members, as well as through developing relationships with the local ‘Visitor Centers’ within Sedona, Camp Verde, Clarkdale and Old Town Cottonwood.
The Verde Drive-In will start with one screen showing Classic Films two days a week and grow into multiple days a week and multiple screens. I am seeking financing to support the land development, construction of one screen, one building to contain projectors, and purchase of a food truck.
Will you join me in creating a Drive In movie theater entertainment destination?
